International Conflicts

International conflicts are complicated and rather unlike – violent and nonviolent, social, economic, political, combinations etc. Conflicts transform – escalate and de-escalate. For different conflicts varied solution strategies are needed as well as for different stages of a conflict special techniques are requires. Therefore, in most of the cases conflict resolutions’ strategies and tactics are rather unique. (veel …)

Terrorism and Media

Terrorism below has been examined within the concept of “Death of Dance” – the term coined by the US communications specialist James E.Lukaszewski (1987). Here (media and terrorism) two-sided profits are pursued: on the one hand media needs a success story and on the other side – terrorism offers its ideological and violent story that definitely gains interest of any news organization, outlet etc all over the world.

In addition, the examination of the old media (newspapers, television), new media (internet) and the newest media (different versions of social media) in comparison will be taken. A more specific case of study is ISIS. (veel …)

Venezuela – 2006/2007 – Some exciting memoirs

A Surreal Day of Canyoning in the Andes Mountains (Venezuela)

Rappelling down waterfalls along the Santa Catalina River (City of Merida, Venezuela)

It’s a day that will definitely be remembered for the rest of my life. I have never done such extreme activities, and it didn’t seem very intense that day when I lived through everything. It was just a very bright day, hard to describe.

Since everything in Venezuela was extremely tentative and the agreements were not respected, life revolved around the principle: the end is good, everything is good, no matter how much time it would take until the end –  I did not believe in particular that the representative of  a company called “Fanny and…”  until the driver with the car appeared to our hotel in the morning at the scheduled time. Maybe the fact that the owner was a Swiss had to be important to take into consideration while explaining the exact timing. (veel …)

WORLD POLITICS

World Politics Blog talks about various international events that affect the major world processes regarding politics, economics, military and diplomacy of everyday life. Among other things, the author also expresses the views on international tensions, latent, open and violent conflicts, wars and possible peace-making, peace enforcement, peacekeeping, peace building tools, tactics and strategies that are associated with each specific case. International conflicts in various spheres – economy, social, demographic-migration, military-civil technologies, internet, etc. – are also the basis of security, which will be presented. At times, theoretical views can be added to the case studies, which originate primarily from neo-realistic IR principles, but do not completely exclude (neo)liberal and (neo)constructivist thoughts. Thus, the blog is a combination of events, the logical sequence of happenings, and perhaps to certain degree a hectic search for a world system explanation through inductive provision of theoretical ideas.

2012: “Planning Peace in Syria: Russia is Coming”

European neighbors Syria and Russia act according to the old saying: if you want peace – prepare for war? Si vis pacem, para bellum – if you want peace – prepare for war. Just this kind of ancient wisdom was published last week by Russian President V.Putin,  by the head of neighboring to the European Union country, when he met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The weapons that Russia supplies to European Union another bordering country, Syria, are not for war, but rather for peace in that country as explained by Putin. (veel …)
